While we are on the topic of people who need to resign, State Representative Sally Kern of Oklahoma recently said that, “Studies show that no society that has totally embraced homosexuality has lasted more than, you know, a few decades.” Hmmm, interesting. I must have missed those studies.

“I honestly think it’s the biggest threat our nation has, even more so than terrorism or Islam.” Oh, really? George Bush and your Republican allies don’t seem to think so. They stopped caring right after the 2004 election. She also claims that the gays are taking over our city councils! Oh no, the end is near!

In an interview with CNN she seemed baffled why she was being scrutinized. Afterall, she is just a public official. Do we actually expect our public officials to respect every one of their constituents? Of course not! Especially not if they’re gay! “What is wrong with me, as an American, exercising my free speech, rights?” There’s nothing wrong with it – except that you’re an idiot.
